Respiratory Pathogens Testing

Patients Choice Laboratories provides the accuracy and speed necessary for clinicians to effectively identify and address respiratory infections. Our tests use Real-Time PCR to identify specific and even polymicrobial infections. Point-of-care assays have limited ability to test for multiple disease states, which can lead to delays in proper diagnoses and lends to the progression and transmission of the infection.

Respiratory tract infections can be caused by viral or bacterial pathogens.  The symptoms caused by these different pathogens are nearly indistinguishable. Therefore, rapid and accurate diagnosis of the responsible pathogen can aid healthcare providers in properly diagnosing patients, improve patient management, limit transmission, and reduce overall healthcare costs.
